Ceremonies we cover, in order
A typical Pakistani wedding moves through these events. We can photograph any one of them on its own, or all of them as a full booking.
Dholki
The sing-song evening in the run-up to the wedding, usually at home. We stay out of the way and photograph the singing, the dancing and the family teasing each other, rather than posing anyone.

Mehndi
Henna, bright clothes and dancing, usually the biggest party before the wedding day itself. We shoot this the same documentary way, plus a short set of portraits of the bride’s henna once it’s done.

Nikkah
The religious contract, often at a mosque, community hall or family home. We photograph the signing, the prayers and the family portraits afterwards, working around whatever the venue or family asks for.

Baraat
The groom’s procession to meet the bride’s side, often with a dhol player and dancing in the street or car park. This moves fast, so we position ourselves ahead of it to get the arrival rather than following behind.
