The Venue
A Wandsworth Town Hall Wedding
Wandsworth Town Hall was built between 1935 and 1937 by Edward A. Hunt and opened by Queen Mary in July 1937. It is Grade II listed, and the council describes its style as original Art Deco. Outside, a frieze tells the story of Wandsworth; inside, a marble-lined hall with a coffered ceiling leads to an imperial staircase rising to an upper hall lined in African onyx.
The register office has been in the Town Hall since 1993, and it is a superb building for photos: clean 1930s lines, rich materials and a courtyard with a fountain and stepped main entrance, all within a few steps of your ceremony room.

Wandsworth is relaxed about photography. Guests may photograph and film throughout the ceremony as long as it is not intrusive, so we can capture the whole thing, from your entrance to the signing.
Afterwards, the council lets couples take photos in the marble hall, the garden and the courtyard with its fountain and stepped main entrance. That gives us a lot of variety without leaving the building, which is perfect when time is short. If you plan to use confetti, check the current rules with the register office first.
